Charge Your Apple Watch in Style With The Satechi Watch Stand (Review)

Satechi Apple Watch Stand

Whether you are wanting to have a stand for your Apple Watch by your bed or on your desk, the Satechi Watch Stand is one to have on your short list.  Available in all the standard Apple device colors, the all aluminum design of the Satechi stand is uncompromising in functionality, style, and construction.

I recently received the Satechi Watch Stand and much like the Mobile Dock that I reviewed in November 2018, it was a desktop accessory that I immediately enjoyed.  The design and style – and the fact that it matches my Mobile Dock and my MacBook with its gold finish – makes me pleased each time I walk into my office.

In their latest report on wearables, IDC has indicated that Apple shipped just over 4 million Apple Watch units in the third quarter of 2018.  It represents a 54% growth over the same quarter in 2017 and was largely driven by the Series 3 watch.

In total, IDC estimates that 4.2 million Apple Watch models were shipped in the quarter.  That is compared to 2.7 million in 2018.  The jump in shipments moved Apple to 13.1% of the overall marketshare, up from 10.3% for the same quarter in 2017.  That said, Apple still does not lead in the overall marketshare. That goes to Xiaomi which holds 21.5% of the market.

UnitedHealthcare Offering an Apple Watch to Subscribers for Staying Active

Activity on Apple Watch

Joining other health insurance companies like Aetna, UnitedHealthcare has begun offering an Apple Watch to subscribers in exchange for staying active.  The program, part of what UHC calls their “Motion” program, will provide a Series 3 Watch for those who enroll in the program and request the Watch.  In return, subscribers earn up to $4 per day towards the cost of the watch by staying active.

UnitedHealthcare offers three different ways in which subscribers can earn that $4 credit.

  • Frequency: Complete 500 steps in 7 minutes an hour apart, at least six times per day
  • Intensity: Complete 3,000 steps in 30 minutes, at least once per day; and
  • Tenacity: Complete at least 10,000 steps per day.

Complete any of these and track it through the Apple Watch and the $4 credit is earned.
