After being announced at the October Apple Event, the option to order a MacBook Pro with the AMD Radeon Pro Vega graphics option is now available for you to order. The option adds $350 to the total cost of the 15-inch laptop.
As with most custom MacBook orders, when you add the Radeon Pro Vega option, the time it takes to get your beefed up graphics package longer. At the time of this post, orders with this graphics option are being fulfilled around November 20. All-in, with this option, the 15-inch Pro will cost $3149 without any other upgrade options (CPU, RAM, Storage).
Clearly the need for such high end graphics is not for everyone. If you are doing serious photo editing or video editing then the additional grunt that this graphics option can offer may be of interest. For the vast majority of users, even gamers on Mac, the standard video option will likely be plenty sufficient.
Note that the new Radeon Pro Vega option is only available on the 15-inch version of the MacBook Pro. It is not available on the 13-inch models. Also, you will have to start with the i7-Core model in order to see the option on the Apple Store site.
