Apple Business Chat, a platform based on iMessage that allows business to provide customer service, has expanded massively this morning. Originally launched in the United States earlier this year, it is now available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Leveraging iMessage, Apple Business Chat allows for customers to ask for information, make appointments and purchase, and do other customer service tasks right from within the Messages app. If you have ever used the Apple Support app and chatted with someone via Messages, you were using Apple Business Chat.
Many brands use the service and along with this expansion of support, so too came support from new companies such as Vodafone in Germany, Harvey Norman in Australia, and Credit Suisse in both Hong Kong and Singapore. That adds to the already impressive list of companies that support it here in the United States. Those include Home Depot, Lowes, Wells Fargo, Hilton, Marriott, and of course Apple itself.
To use Apple Business Chat, your iPhone or iPad needs to be on at least iOS 11.3 and you will generate the chat from the specific company’s app. Services and options will vary from each provider. You will have to start the chat from your iPhone or iPad but after it is going, you can continue from your Apple Watch or your Mac.
