Apple Introduces The All-New Mac mini – Starting at $799

At the Apple Event today in New York, Apple introduced the massively updated Mac mini.  The new Space Grey mini comes standard with a quad-core Intel i3 CPU, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage.  It is highly customizable with up to 64GB of RAM clocked at 2666MHz and up to 2TB of flash storage that is four-times faster than the storage in the previous generation of Mac mini.

Along with this Intel I-Core processor, you have Apple T2 security chip, an Ethernet port, four USB-C ports that support Thunderbolt 3, a HDMI port, and two USB-A ports.  The new mini has a new thermal system with twice the airflow of the previous generation to keep things cool.

Graphics are powered by the Intel UHD Graphics 630 and you can configure the Ethernet port with up to 10GB/sec throughput.

The starting configuration of the new Mac mini is

  • 3.6GHz quad‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i3
  • 8GB 2666MHz DDR4
  • Intel UHD Graphics 630
  • 128GB SSD storage
  • Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet using RJ-45 connector)

This starts at $799 and is available for pre-order today.  They will be available in Apple Stores on November 7.
