Through filings with the Security & Exchange Commission (SEC), Apple has announced that the next Apple Shareholders meeting will take place at 9:00 am Pacific on March 1, 2019. The meeting will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. Apple is requesting that shareholders pre-register to attend in person due to limited seating at the theater. That pre-registration can be done at the site Proxyvote.com starting February 6, 2019. Apple stock holders of record as of January 2, 2019 will be eligible to attend the meeting and be able to pre-register to attend in person.
Last year, the Apple Shareholders meeting was a pretty tame event. This year could be quite different. Apple has struggled in recent weeks with revised forecasts for last quarter along with slow sales of all three of the current iPhone models. Investors could take the opportunity to flex their collective muscle to demand more from the company or even point that frustration at CEO Tim Cook himself. But that is all unlikely. Apple, while struggling, is not in any immediate financial danger and the company has big plans for 2019 around healthcare and services. That, likely, will be the main talking points of the meeting.
