Today, Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” album is now available on Apple Music for streaming. The 2016 album has, to this point, been an exclusive for Tidal. Apple Music users could purchase the album for $17.99 but could not stream it. That exclusivity is now over for Tidal.
Navigating to Apple Music on your iPhone, you will see the “Lemonade” album in the New Releases section. It is the full 13-track album and you can add it to your library if you are an Apple Music subscriber to listen to it offline on your iPhone or iPad.
Tidal was founded in 2014 with Jay-Z and 15 other artists taking over ownership of it in 2015. The key thing for Tidal was the sound quality, lossless CD quality – FLAC-based 16-Bit/44.1 kHz – and MQA. While it is debatable how much success the company has had, the exclusive content from Jay-Z and Beyoncé was one of the big draws. But those exclusives, while long at first, are now lasting only a matter of days on the latest content from artists associated with Tidal. Further, rumors have persisted of royalty payments not being made on time and inflated subscriber numbers.
Regardless, now you can get “Lemonade” on Apple Music as well as Spotify for those who subscribe to that service.
