If you are like me, you have a dozen or so sites that you visit frequently – as in, every day or multiple times per day. While having those a website bookmarked in Safari is handy, there is actually a quicker and easier way to get to them. Add them to your Home Screen. I’ll show you how to do it in this How To.
The process of adding a website to your Home Screen is very easy to do and only takes a few steps. First, in Safari, open up the site you want to pin to your Home Screen. Once there, tap on the Share icon on the bottom taskbar and then scroll down until you find “Add to Home Screen”.
Tap that option and you’ll be brought to a second page which allows you to change the name of the site. This can help you shorten the name if the site has a tagline (like AverageAppleGuy.com) or simply to rename it to make it easier to remember. You don’t have to do this by-the-way, it is purely an option.
Once you are done renaming the site, tap “Add” in the upper right corner and the site will be added to your Home Screen.
The cool thing is, there is no real limit to the number of site you can pin like this and you can add them into folders just like you can any other app.
Finally, you can do this in Chrome as well. It is off the menu and it also is “Add to Home Screen”
