Taking screenshots on your iPhone is a pretty straightforward process. If you aren’t familiar with it, all you have to do is press the Power button and the Home button at the same. Your screen will flash and a screenshot is added to your Photos library. Not surprisingly, the ability to take screenshots on your Apple Watch is just as easy – but there is a catch. By default, the ability to take a screenshot is not enabled. That said, with one simple change in the Watch app, you can take screenshots of your watch just like you can your iPhone or iPad. In this How To, I’ll show you how to quickly enable the feature and how to take a screenshot of your Apple Watch.
First, on your iPhone, open up the Watch app. Once there, go to General on the My Watch page (the app should open here by default) and the scroll down until you see the option “Enable Screenshots”. Slide the toggle switch on and then exit the app.
Now that the feature is enabled, turn your attention to your Apple Watch. To take a screenshot, you need to press both the Digital Crown and the Side button on your watch. Just like on your iPhone or iPad, when you take the screenshot, your screen will flash and that image is sent to your Photos library on your iPhone.
From there, you can keep the image or share it with others. You can also use apps like SM Pro to put the image in frames for your Apple Watch as well as other Apple devices. The sis the app I use for all the screenshots you see here on Average Apple Guy.
