Arguably, one of the best financial tools for buying new Apple products is the Apple Card. The Goldman Sachs-backed Mastercard provides users the ability to buy new hardware interest free with low monthly payments in addition to Daily Cash Back on all purchases – be it with Apple or anyone else who accepts Mastercard. Apple has also made it easy for Apple customers to apply for the card through the built-in Apple Wallet app on their iPhone with a high percentage of users being able to secure the card easily.
All that said, there may be a time where you need to get an improvement on your Apple Card credit limit for that Mac Studio or new MacBook Pro that you’ve been wanting or needing. While the process to request such an increase is easy, getting to it is not obvious in Apple Wallet or on the card itself. Fortunately there is a way to do it and it doesn’t require a phone call. Here is how to do it.
First, go to the Apple Wallet app then tap on your Apple Card. This will bring up the normal information associated with your card such as your current balance, your payment due date, and your latest transactions. In the upper right corner you will see a three-dot menu in a circle. That’s where you need to go. Tap that to open up the card details. Here you will find your scheduled payments, any Monthly Installments you’ve done and at the bottom, your Credit Limit, Available Limit, and Interest Rate. Just below the card icon is a Message icon. That’s where you need to go to make your request. Tapping it will open up an Apple Business Chat session with Apple.
At this point, in the messages window, simply type “request for credit increase”. You will get a message reply back that may ask for some information such as your income and other factors that go into the decision making of whether your limit can be increased or not. In most cases, the request will take a few days to be approved or denied and you will see a message letting you know that is the case and you will be emailed at your iCloud email address.
Since credit limits and credit history a uniquely personal thing, you may not be approved just like any other credit card. If you are approved, the new limit for your card will automatically be added to your card and can be used within a few minutes.
