Control Center in iOS has continued to evolve and grow in functionality over the past few versions of iOS. That continued with iOS 14 adding Home Controls to it. Previously, you a single Home icon to get to your Home automations and controlled devices. Now with iOS 14, you have the ability to have your devices, six in all, right in Control Center for easy manipulation without having to open the Home app itself.
Control Center is customized by going to Settings>Control Center on your iPhone or iPad. Here you have a list of all of the controls that you can add or remove from the Center. in iOS 14, you now have a new control, Show Home Controls.
If you enable this switch, when you open up Control Center on your iPhone or iPad, you will now see a list of your devices along with a Home Favorites button which will show you all of your devices.
Now you can control lights, Apple TV and other devices you have connected to your Home with a simple tap. Note in my screenshot above that my Office Desk Lamp is on. I can simply tap that icon to turn it off (or, of course, tell Siri to do so). It is a quick and easy way to make changes without having to open up the Home app on your device.
Apple has made a few tweaks to Home itself as it continues to grow in functionality. Check out all the details at the link above.
