A handy new feature in Apple Podcasts will be makings it way to you with iOS 12.2. With the next update to iOS, a “Mark as Played” feature will be available in the company’s podcasts app. While the feature isn’t revolutionary – many other podcasts apps have it – it is a welcome addition to Apple’s app nevertheless.
How the feature works is straightforward. When you have an episode that you want to mark as played, long press it to bring up the menu. There you will find the new option to mark that episode as played and you can go on to the next.
For the most part, iOS 12.2 will be focused on bug fixes and other performance updates but it will have small feature updates like this one in it as well. iOS 12.2 is currently in its second beta build and brings this feature along with Apple News to Canadians and other improvements. Apple doesn’t post a release schedule for updates to their platforms but we should see 12.2 arrive for the general public late this month or early next based on historical beta cycles. That, of course, could change should a show-stopping bug be found during the beta cycle.
