Digitimes is reporting this morning that Taiwanese PCB firms are gearing up for mass production of Apple’s next generation of iPads and AirPods. The report comes just days ahead of the Apple Event on March 25. At that event, at least in passing, the new devices are expected to be announced according to the report.
Flexible PCB firms Flexium Interconnect and Zhen Ding Technology are gearing up for mass production for Apple’s next-generation iPad devices, while Compeq Manufacturing and Unitech PCB supply rigid-flex boards for the forthcoming AirPods, according to industry sources.Digitimes
While the Apple Event on the 25th is likely to be focused on Apple’s new Apple TV streaming service and Apple News Subscriptions, minor updates to products like the AirPods and iPads are not out of the question. If they are mentioned, they will likely be in passing and not a primary focus of the event.
Rumors of an updated iPad have been floating for weeks after new iPad devices pass through several regulatory bodies globally. The new entry level iPad is expected to retain the Home button but have a 10.2″ display over the current 9.7″ as well as significantly improved internals.
