Apple CEO Tim Cook joined Robin Roberts on ABC’s Good Morning America this morning, talking about the new iPhone, the Apple Watch, and China tariffs. They also spoke about the new portrait modes that are in the iPhone Xs and Xs Max, complete with a demo of the Memoji feature.
The interview is linked below and it is just over 8 minutes in length. It is well worth the watch. It is also clear from this interview that Tim Cook is very proud of Apple and the products they have made.
The interview covered a wide range of topics, starting with the potential tariffs on Apple products in the escalating trade war between the United States and China. Mr. Cook said he was optimistic a solution would be found and that “life would go on”.
For her part, Mrs. Roberts pointed out the pricing structure of the iPhone Xs lineup with the Xs Max starting at nearly $1100. Cook’s response was measured, pointing out that most people buy through their carriers and that they pay around $30 a month for the phone.
In the interview, they also discussed the upcoming electrocardiogram feature that will come to the Apple Watch Series 4 later this year and the potential positive impact that could have for people who have known or unknown heart conditions.
The interview concluded with demonstration of the Memoji feature of the iPhone Xs series and the improved portrait mode found in the camera.
