Apple has flipped the switch on the new Veterans Day Challenge in the Apple Activity App. The new challenge gives a limited edition award for those who complete 11 minutes of exercise on Sunday, November 11, 2018. That exercise can be done through the Workout app or another app that adds workouts to the Apple Health app.
Veterans Day is a public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I (November 11) to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It was first enacted in 1954.
If you have an Apple Watch, you can go into the Apple Activity app to see the new award. It is located under the Awards tab in the Limited Edition section. This is not the first time that Apple has made a limited edition award. If you recall, back in August there was a National Parks award available in the Apple Activity App.
There is nothing you need to do within the Activity app to get the aware on November 11. Simply work out at least 11 minutes and it will automatically be awarded to you. Just make sure that on your Apple Watch that you start the workout app.
There are a plethora of other apps that will give you credit by sending workout data to Apple Health on your iPhone. These include apps such as RunKeeper, Nike+ Run Club, Runtastic, and Record by Under Armor to name but a few. You just have to make sure the app is sharing data with Apple Health to get proper credit.
